DEBOSSING
Debossing is done by heating up a plate or metal which is engraved to the required specific shapes such as individual letters or logo and then pressing that engraved metal into the leather.

Debossing process is similar to that of embossing, except for the fact that debossing raises the material around the die impression rather than raising the design area itself. Brass and copper dies are used in the debossing process as well. When debossing an image such as a logo, a title, or other designs, it is pressed into the surface of the material with a die, creating depressions rather than raised impressions as with embossing. Debossing is done by heating up a plate or metal which is engraved to the required specific shapes such as individual letters or logo and then pressing that engraved heated piece of metal into the leather for a few seconds. This method leaves an imprint in the debossed form that remains in the leather. The natural beauty and richness of leather can be enhanced by adding a logo, company name, family crest, or artwork to give your item a unique and attractive presentation. Debossing creates an indented image.

Debossing is generally done for the following applications:

  • Personalized leather items such as briefcases, backpacks, valets, business card cases, key chains and more.
  • Debossing in car or aircraft seats
  • A special cover for a photo album, that favorite leather jacket or coat, a cover for a wine bottle, special book covers, company gifts, luggage tags, and so much more can be enriched with a debossed application.
